I finally received my DJI Mavic 4 Pro last Thursday after months of eagerly waiting - and it might just be the very first one to arrive in Malta! Although I’m super excited, I haven’t opened the box yet. I’m planning a proper unboxing video soon to share the full experience with you. The reason I’m holding off a bit is that the ND filters—essential for capturing perfect footage in bright conditions—are still unavailable. DJI recently recalled these filters due to quality control issues, and the company has announced that a revised batch will be released in early June 2025.
The Mavic 4 Pro boasts a revolutionary triple-camera setup that caters to every kind of aerial imaging need:
100MP Hasselblad Main Camera: Equipped with a 4/3-inch CMOS sensor and a variable aperture (f/2.0 to f/11), this camera delivers exceptional image quality and excellent low-light performance.
50MP Medium Telephoto Camera: With a 70mm focal length, this lens is perfect for capturing distant subjects with stunning clarity.
48MP Telephoto Camera: Offering a 168mm focal length, it allows for highly detailed close-ups from a significant distance.
This versatile system lets you smoothly switch between wide, medium, and telephoto shots, ideal for dynamic cinematography and creative aerial photography.
One of the standout innovations in the Mavic 4 Pro is its 360° rotating “Infinity Gimbal.” This unique design allows the camera to rotate freely, capturing shots from virtually any angle—including vertical and upward perspectives—opening up new creative possibilities that weren’t achievable with previous drones.
Flight Time: Up to 51 minutes thanks to a powerful 95Wh battery and an efficient propulsion system.
Top Speed: Reaches up to 90 km/h (56 mph), enabling fast and agile flight maneuvers.
Transmission Range: Reliable control up to 41 km, offering extensive freedom during flight.
Obstacle Avoidance: Equipped with omnidirectional sensors, including a forward-facing LiDAR system, for superior safety and autonomous navigation.
The DJI Mavic 4 Pro is now available across Europe, including Malta via simacFPV, making it accessible for both professionals and enthusiasts eager to experience the latest drone technology.
Here’s an overview of the pricing in Euros (€):
Standard Package (Includes the drone and the DJI RC-2 controller): €2,099
Fly More Combo (Also comes with the DJI RC-2 controller and adds 2 extra batteries, a parallel charger and a carrying case): €2,699
Creator Combo (Features the DJI RC Pro 2 controller with a 7-inch tilting touchscreen and 512GB internal storage): €3,539
The DJI Mavic 4 Pro truly sets a new benchmark in the drone world with its unmatched imaging capabilities, innovative gimbal design, and powerful performance. Whether you’re a seasoned filmmaker or an aerial photography hobbyist, this drone equips you with the tools to capture breathtaking visuals like never before.
I’ll be sharing my unboxing and first flight impressions soon—stay tuned! And once those ND filters arrive in early June, I’ll be able to test the full potential of this remarkable machine under all lighting conditions.
